The brothers behind Bobanco
As brothers growing up in Edinburgh, we’ve always appreciated the beauty and sense of freedom that remote Scotland has to offer. Our childhood summers were spent on the Isle of Tiree, where we would immerse ourselves fully in all that the wild, wet and windy West Coast had to offer. The white beaches, rugged coastline, and strong winds gave a peaceful retreat from the busyness of everyday life. This sense of disconnection is something we feel should be accessible to everybody.
In 2023, a seven-week, two-man exploration of remote Southern Africa in a retired sixty-series Land Cruiser became a pivotal moment in the creation of Bobanco. Travelling through remote landscapes and staying in off-grid cabins and lodges, we realised the profound role that accommodation plays in shaping our connection to nature. The right space doesn’t just exist within its environment - it enhances it. It provides a sanctuary that amplifies the beauty around it while offering comfort, inspiration, and an unforgettable experience. These experiences were the foundation for Bobanco. With backgrounds in Product Design Engineering from Loughborough University, we saw an opportunity to merge our love for the outdoors with thoughtful design and high-quality craftsmanship. Our goal is simple: to create cabins and saunas that reflect Scotland’s natural beauty.
Simply designed for slow living.
