Frequently Asked Questions

Ordering and Payment

  • Contact us via email or phone with your preferred model or a brief on your bespoke project. We’ll follow up with an initial consultation to review specification, site access, and timeline.

  • To secure a build slot, we ask for a £2,000 non-refundable deposit.
Three weeks before your build begins, 50% of the remaining balance is due.
Once your sauna is complete and before it leaves our workshop, we take a further 40%.
The final 10% acts as a snagging fee, payable seven days after installation is complete.

  • Lead time depends on our current workshop schedule and the complexity of your build. Get in touch for up-to-date lead times. Once your slot is confirmed, we’ll give you a clear timeline and keep you updated as your build progresses.

Design & Build

  • Every sauna is built by hand in our workshop in Leith, Edinburgh. Each one is made by our small team of designers and makers using a mix of modern engineering and traditional craftsmanship.

  • We use high-grade materials chosen for performance and longevity - from Accoya doors and windows to thermally treated timbers, sheep’s wool insulation, stainless steel fixings, and solid wood interiors. Every material is specified for durability in Scottish conditions.

  • Yes. All of our builds can be tailored - from cladding type, bench layout, and window size to optional extras like sedum roofs, lighting, and storage. We also take on fully bespoke commissions for unique projects.

  • Yes. We build both. Wood-fired saunas offer an off-grid experience with natural heat and atmosphere. Electric saunas are convenient and quick to use.

  • Yes. All of our saunas are designed to be moved safely if you decide to change location, or move home.

  • Our saunas are built for exactly those conditions. Every structure is designed and tested to withstand high coastal winds, driving rain, and constant exposure to salt air. The frames are over-engineered using structural-grade timber, stainless steel fixings, and durable membranes to prevent water ingress. We use Accoya for all doors and windows, which carries a 50-year above-ground guarantee and doesn’t swell or warp in damp weather. Cladding is fixed with secret stainless fasteners, and each unit is anchored securely to its foundations.

Site & Installation

  • In most cases, non-commercial, small detached garden buildings don’t require planning permission, but this depends on your site and local authority. We recommend checking with your local planning department before ordering.

  • Your site should be level, stable, and ready for delivery. Most customers use concrete pads, timber sleepers, or ground screws. We’ll provide a foundation drawing specific to your site before installation.

  • All of our units are prefabricated in the workshop and delivered as a complete unit using a trailer, HIAB or crane. We can build on site if required, however this is not preferred, and there may be additional costs involved.

  • Yes, we deliver all accross the UK, Europe and USA.

Using Your Sauna

  • Typically 45–60 minutes depending on the heater type, and sauna size.

  • Keep the interior clean and dry after each use. Avoid harsh cleaners - a damp cloth and mild soap are all that’s needed. The exterior will weather naturally over time.

Aftercare & Warranty

  • We provide a two-year structural warranty on all saunas, covering materials and workmanship. Individual components such as stoves and electrical parts are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.

  • Yes. We’re happy to provide ongoing support and can advise on cleaning, resealing, and seasonal checks. For commercial installations, we recommend a yearly inspection to keep everything running perfectly.
